I wanted to share a recent project that we completed for a repeat client in Oakland, CA. These clients live in a beautiful Art Deco style home that was built for the San Francisco World’s Fair in 1939. The home is teaming with original period details and is truly a work of art.

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
