Hi there! I'm back! It's been a crazy busy summer for me and I'm excited about getting back to the blog!!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I published a sneak peak of this recent bath remodel last week. And, the client was.....me!! And, no, this wasn't a scheduled remodel......ugh! Last winter, I noticed that our hardwood floors were buckling in the hall outside this bathroom -- and after pretending that wasn't happening for as long as I could, I knew that I finally had to bite the bullet and take care of the problem!

Yes, I know. It's bad. This was the last room in our house that we had yet to update. You've heard the saying "the Cobbler's children have no shoes", right? :)
But the good news, is that we now have a fresh, new look for the space. And most importantly for me, the bathroom has become another space where we can showcase art from our collection.

The vanity cabinet was custom designed (by yours truly) and made out of mahogany by my fabulous cabinet maker. I love the simple style, and the contemporary hardware.

For the floor, I chose a simple gray matte ceramic tile and had it installed in a herringbone pattern. The field tile in the shower is light gray (size 3x12) and installed in a vertical offset brick pattern.

One final note, the faucet that I chose is a nod to my dad. He passed away in 2012 after he and my mom had moved into a new house that my mom had designed. My dad was so proud of the faucet that he had selected for their powder bath. When he first showed me, he said "look at this faucet that I chose! The water looks like a waterfall when it comes out! Isn't that great?" So, of course, I had to have it too. :)
