Before and After: Mud Room Redux

Hi there!  I recently did a little 'redo' of my mud room and I thought I'd share a before and after with you!

Here it is before:

Ugh, I know!  Awful right?  I used to have a small table under my not so nicely written message on the painted chalkboard wall -- (I have adult children living at home -- so you can understand my frustration with continually asking to put their things away!)  The chalkboard area was initially intended for us to leave each other notes, or messages -- but clearly it was not working!

If you follow me on Instagram (@pricestyleanddesign), you know that I recently became kind of obsessed with Hygge & West and their removable wallpaper collection.

For my project, I used  Raindrops (Blue/Grey) Tiles.  It's super easy to apply. Hygge & West provide how-to directions on their site.  Here is a sampling of some other beautiful options that they have:

My goal for the mudroom, was to create an entrance space (from our garage) that made me happy when I walked in the door -- as well as a place to drop our car keys, and artfully store a few items.

Mirror // Console // Art - Original (find similar here) // Vintage (but similar here)

Dog Food Can  (similar here)  // Basket // Rug from Ebay (similar here)

The  oversized basket is great, because it can hold things like bags for groceries, baseball hats, scarves, etc.

So that's it!  I hope I've inspired you to create a space that makes you happy! :)

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
