Hi and welcome! At one of my client meetings yesterday, I kept talking about the 'jewel' in the design of a room. In every interior design project, I try and bring in some sort of element that just feels unique -- it may be subtle, but it's a piece of the design puzzle that I feel is like 'jewelry' -- something that accents the space in an artful way.
Decorative details can come in many forms -- it may be the hardware and the seagrass texture on a beautiful console like the one pictured above.
Or it may be the brass details of a beautiful lamp. Or even the juxtaposition of a tailored looking lamp with wallpaper that has a fluid element to the design.
Artful design jewels could also be found in layering vintage objects on a stack of books. I bet I've got you thinking about looking through your grandmother's jewelry now, right? :)
I'd love to help you create some jewels in your home! Contact me for interior design and interior styling services. Available in the San Francisco Bay Area.
P.S. The console, lamps, and wallpaper all available at Price Style and Design, 3439 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA. :)
