It's always fun as a designer to go back to a project to have it photographed. I love working with clients, seeing a design take shape, and creating their dream spaces.
This master bedroom is in a beautiful bungalow in Berkeley that was completed a year ago. When I first met with the client, she informed me that she did not like color. I happened to have a few neutral fabric books with me and while I pulled them out to start the design conversation, she noticed a colorful fabric book that I had with me as well. Asking to see it, she immediately gravitated toward lavenders, purples and chartreuse-y greens. The look of joy that appeared on her face was amazing to watch, and proves my point that colors can evoke emotion in interior design.
And so, the client who told me she didn't like color now has this colorful, simple and chic designed master bedroom that makes her happy. The pillows and headboard are custom, the bedspread is from Room and Board and the bedside table was also custom made.
That cute wart hog on the bedside table is from the client's recent trip to Africa. A great reminder that collecting little things on your travels can be fun little additions to your decor!
