It's always great when a client starts the interior design process outlining their specific needs and aesthetic requirements. My client recently asked me to make their living room look like the style depicted by Joanna Gaines in the HGTV show, "Fixer Upper".
The key to getting the "Fixer Upper" look is to keep things pretty neutral, and infuse subtle color with pillows, art and accessories.
These are three tips that we used when creating this room design:
We included a really lovely, washed, wooden console with linen insets, for an accent piece. I just adore how it looks!
The chest and built-ins were styled using the homeowner's existing art along with some new pieces, and a blend of artful objects for a well curated look.
Aren't those furry benches fantastic? They are super comfortable, and great for extra seating! I think Joanna Gaines would approve!
